Weald of Kent Success

The Weald of Kent Grammar School has been recognised as one of the safest schools in England in a national survey of parents.

Weald of Kent started in Tonbridge and now has a satellite site in Sevenoaks.

The school was ranked 18th in England and 6th in the South east region, according to the Great British Schools Guide analysis of OFSTED's recent surveys of parents.

West Kent Radio's Zac Daunt-Jones heard from Assistant Headteacher at Weald of Kent, Bev Swaffer. Listen here:

Headteacher Richard Booth praised the entire school community for contributing to this achievement: “At Weald, we take great pride in the caring and supportive culture that underpins everything we do. This recognition reflects the commitment of our staff, the kindness of our students, and the trust of our parents in helping us build a nurturing environment where everyone feels secure, valued and ready to succeed. For us, the whole child is the whole point."

Richard Booth continued: "Weald’s focus on safety and wellbeing goes hand-in-hand with exceptional academic performance. When students feel safe and supported, they are free to focus on their learning and aspirations. Over the last three years, Weald has consistently been in the top 3–4% of schools nationally for Progress 8, which measures students’ academic development from Year 7 to Year 11. This pattern of excellence continues into the Sixth Form, where students achieve outstanding results and secure places at leading universities and on competitive apprenticeships. This summer, 94% of sixth formers secured a place at their first choice universities."
