Tonbridge Car Thief : Wanted Picture

Police are seeking help to identify a suspected car thief in Tonbridge

Police are seeking help to identify a suspected car thief in Tonbridge who fled after being challenged by a passer-by.

Officers have issued a CCTV image of a person they would like to speak to following the incident in Barden Road, which happened on Monday 8 July 2024.

It is reported that at around 12.15pm a suspect was initially seen trying a door handle of a blue Ford Fiesta.

He returned shortly after and managed to enter the vehicle’s boot but was challenged by a man suspicious of his behaviour.

The suspect is alleged to have made threats with what appeared to be a wrench before he then ran from the scene.

Attending patrols carried out house-to-house and CCTV enquiries and officers are now keen to speak to the man pictured.
