The £100 Tap

Time to flex your card

West Kent businesses will be able to accept the tap of a debit or credit card, up to the value of £100 from today.

The previous limit of £45 is being raised, following the popularity of tap and go during the pandemic.

However, not all machines will be able to accept the new £100 tap from today, as it could take several weeks for all machines to be upgraded.

There are warnings that the new £100 limit could see more fraudulent transactions when a card is lost or stolen.
