Sustainability at The Amelia

Solar panels and water storage

The Amelia building in Monson Road, Tunbridge Wells, is due to open in April 2022.

The two grade two listed buildings have previously been poor when comes to maintaining heat and sustainability.

During the work to convert the two buildings, 90 solar panels are being fitted. These panels will produce sufficient electricity to run the Amelia on a day-to-day basis, with any surplus fed to the grid. These solar panels are expected to save 12 tonnes of carbon per annum.

In addition, a 15,000 litre rainwater tank has been installed and buried during construction. The water captured can be used in the building.
