GAP to Leave Sevenoaks

The store will close in the next few weeks.

GAP, the clothing store, is to close all of its remaining 81 outlets in the UK and Ireland to become purely an online store.

The Gap store in Bligh's Meadow Shopping Centre will be closing, along with all other locations across the country. The company says that the stores will close in a phased manner during August and September. The Tunbridge Wells stores closed several months ago.

A spokesman for the company said:
'We are not exiting the UK market. We will continue to run and operate our Gap e-commerce business in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland.'

The fate of staff at the Sevenoaks branch is uncertain at this time.
