Fewer Councillors in Tonbridge and Malling?

TMBC seeking views on the proposed boundary changes

The Local Government Boundary Commission for England (LGBCE) is carrying out an electoral review of Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council.

The commission is proposing to recommend that Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council has 43 councillors in the future. This is 11 fewer than the current number.

The commission now needs information from people and groups across Tonbridge and Malling to help it produce new ward boundaries to accommodate 43 councillors. The public are being invited to submit opinions and comments.

The closing date for submissions is 19 July 2021.

The aim of the electoral review is to recommend ward boundaries that mean each councillor represents approximately the same number of voters. It also aims to ensure that ward boundaries reflect the interests and identities of local communities, as well as promoting effective local government.
