Climate Fair Attracts Crowds

Stalls at the Climate and Nature Fair 2025

The first ever Climate and Nature Fair in Tunbridge Wells was held last Saturday in Calverley Grounds and the event is set to be repeated next year.

Despite some heavy downpours in the morning, several hundred people attended.

One of the organisers, Mark McBennett told West Kent Radio: "A lot of the stall holders and visitors have obviously, clearly enjoyed the day. A lot of the stall holders have been able to have very useful, helpful conversations with visitors about the important issues they are to represent, whether it is around nature, climate or energy."

In Martin Webber's second report from the Climate Fair, he heard from Steve Shaw, who's a director of Power For People, who is trying to change the law to help community energy projects.  He also spoke to Christine Spicer, who expressed her concern about huge house building schemes in Paddock Wood.  Listen here:
