The removal of the bottle banks from several Tonbridge car parks caused frustration

The removal of the bottle banks from several Tonbridge car parks earlier this year has caused frustration for many local residents.

And the organisation representing the UK glass industry has told West Kent Radio it also regrets the disappearance of well-used bottle banks, such as the ones in Tonbridge.  That’s because the bottle banks generate high-quality glass, ideal for ensuring glass gets reused by the glass industry for new bottles.

Martin Webber from West Kent Radio came across one local resident in the car park outside the Sainsbury’s supermarket in Tonbridge, who was surprised to find the bottle banks had just been removed.
