The west of the country saw several Remembrance services held yesterday. In Sevenoaks, local MP Laura Trott laid a wreath, and in Tonbridge members of the 17th Tonbridge Scout and Guide Band played, with Tonbridge Rotary among the wreath layers. Southborough saw . . . and in Tunbridge Wells, the Sea Cadets were one of the groups marching in the town, where pupils from Bennett Memorial School laid a wreath at the war memorial in Mount Pleasant. There were also numerous church services across West Kent.
Kent Police warn, that despite a reduction in domestic burglaries, that the Autumn and WInter months see a spike in incidents. November to January are generally the worst months, with thieves targeting homes, looking for expensive Christmas gifts. Police recommend that such items are kept safely in homes and not left visible in cars.
The winning numbers in this week's TW Lotto are 8 3 7 3 9 4. There were two top prizes of £25, and 24 second prizes.
And in sport, the local derby resulted in a 1-0 nill home win for Rusthall, against Tunbridge Wells. The Hawkes had a second resounding victory this month, with a scoreline of Hawkenbury 6, Nomads 2. And in rugby, Tunbridge Wells lost at home to North Walsham by 10 points to 26.
