What is it? Well if you have ever seen BBC's the Repair Shop, it's the same except for everyday household items and the repairs are completed within a few hours. It's repair not restoration. It is a volunteer led community event and we have experts who can fix household and garden electrical items, mechanical items, jewellery, bicycles, wood / small furniture, bicycles, knife sharpening, IT / computers (incl software), textiles / clothes and more!

How does it work? You arrive with your item and once we have assessed if we can help you get booked in and when it's your turn you are taken to the repair station. Once finished there you go to the exit desk and if you'd like to you can give a voluntary donation.

Why do we do it? At it's heart the Repair Cafe is all about reducing landfill, prolonging the life of objects and reducing the cycle of purchasing new things as items are broken. It ignites the previous fix it culture of years gone by and it is a wonderful social event.
